How to make paper clips without dies.
Here are a few of my designs. I couldn't find any paper clip dies except in the Stamping Up catalog, but a bit pricey for me. So I just thought on how I could make my own. I had the ribbon slide punch and I just gave it a try. As you can see they turned out pretty good.
I tried different shapes and sizes. On most of them, I used 2 glued together 80lb. cardstock shapes.
On the black ones I used black glitter embossing powder and heat set. Then I added a layer of UTEE.
On the plain ones I just used one layer of UTEE. They are fun to make. You have to do a little measuring, but well worth the result. Blessings, Renate

Another Pocket Letter.
I used stencils, tissue paper and part of an old dictionary page. On top I put a layer of Mod Podge.
I made a little pocket with an oval cut out.
On the tags I used the same stencil.
As you already know, I like to add a strip of Capri Sun foil to the center for strength.
Here I added a tiny envelope. (2 1/8 x 2 1/8)

Mini Recipe Book.
I found a tutorial at: stempelherz.de
I put my own spin on it. I did the front with mixed media and a layer of Mod Podge. I used velcro for the closure.
This is the back.
I added more pockets to the whole book.
You have a recipe pocket and an other pocket on top.
Another recipe pocket and a smaller pocket on top of it.
Next page.
Here I used a small envelope on top of this pocket. Here you can see, that the book is held together by eyelets and a ribbon.
Another pocket on top of the recipe pocket.
Last page.
Here I recycled a piece of cardboard from small caramel tubs.
Here I made a different envelope on top of this recipe pocket.
Here are my recipe cards. The left one I made with my own coffee dyed paper.
The right one I printed out.
The card on the left I printed out.
The one on the right I made.
Of course you can use the front and back of the cards.
I will post a tutorial how to make the base for this book, if anyone would like to try it.

My First File Folder Junk Journal.
I made a mixed media cover with a couple of coats of Mod Podge.
This is the back.
This is the inside, before I added all the pages. I used a strip of Capri Sun foil in the center for strength.
The tag I just made out of scraps.
The next few pictures are the pages. On the left is one of the coffee dyed papers I made.
I made my own splatter paper. On the right is an old hymn page out of a dictionary. Since its real fragile I painted one side with Mod Podge, and hope it will hold together.
This is a card I got, and I liked it, so I added it to my journal. On the left is a small plastic pocket. It's attached to a bigger pocket. It's from a shower curtain display, we got from a store that's going out of business.
The insert on the right will hold 4 (2x2) pictures.
On the right is a plastic pocket.(The other part from the shower curtain display)
Here I added a Capri Sun pocket.
I sewed everything together with dental floss. I most likely will make an other one, since I had a request for one. These are fun to make. I hope you will give it a try. Blessings, Renate

Another Faux Midori.
On this Midori I glued origami paper over my cardstock, and did a couple of coats of Mod Podge, inside and out. I also used eyelets again.
The back.
I used 4 booklets again.
I made a plastic insert with a sheet protector. Instead of taping the open side up, I used my heatgun and a metal ruler and fused it shut.
This is an envelope insert.
Then I added a few planners.
A folder I made. Found the tutorial on You Tube. I wrote that little saying, one morning while I was at work.
A little bag of bling. I don't have a fuse tool, so I just used my heatgun and a metal ruler to fuse it shut. Works quite well.
An insert made out of magazine paper.
4-pocket insert. Tutorial on You Tube.
2 more booklets.
I like makimg these Faux Midori planners. I'm already working on another one.
I hope everyone has a great week.
Blessings, Renate
